If you’re a beer lover and you’re dying to taste this ale, be prepared for a huge dent in your wallet. The 12 litre bottle of Vieille Bon Secours Ale is said to be the most expensive beer in the world and only very few bars and restaurants stock it. The beer has been described as having a complex taste with citric, caramel and toffee flavours with an undertone of liquorice and aniseed. This ale has aged for 10 years and has an eight percent alcoholic volume.

If you want to try the world’s most expensive cocktail, we recommend calling ahead as this drink takes two days to prepare. Mixed by Joel Heffernan during his tenure at the Crown Club 23 in Melbourne, Australia; the Winston Cocktail contains one of the most expensive cognacs in the world, Cognac Croizet 1858 Cuvee Leonie. This fancy drink also includes Grand Marnier Quintessence, Chartreuse Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé and a dash of Angostura Bitters; served with a sprinkling of chocolate nutmeg.

The world’s most expensive rum was released in 2012 to mark the 50th year of independence for Trinidad and Tobago. This rare rum is limited to just 20 bottles throughout the world. The 500ml crystal decanter, with its detailed stopper, was designed by Asprey of London, jeweller to the Prince of Wales. The blend is described as having aromas of tropical fruit with notes of vanilla, honey and toffee, and a taste of dried fruit with nutty and spicy flavours. That sounds like one fine bottle of rum for any connoisseur.

With only 12 bottles available, Dalmore 62 is the world’s most expensive scotch. Not only is it considered a fine drink, but it also holds an appeal as an investment, and the value is steadily increasing over time. Dalmore 62 is made up of a blend of whiskies made in the Dalmore Highland distillery. The whisky acquired its high price, when it was sold to a businessman for $58,000 at Penny Hill Park hotel. The buyer shared it with five friends; you’d wish you were one of his lucky friends.

Some wines should be saved for special occasions and Château d’Yquem is no exception. This wine is certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the most valuable bottle of white wine ever sold. Typically, white wines aren’t meant to age, but Château d’Yquem is protected from spoilage with its high levels of residual sugar and the natural acidity of the grapes. It was awarded 100 points by leading U.S wine critic, Robert Parker after he described it as “liquefied crème brûlée”.

Each bottle is filled with Pasion Azteca tequila, made from pure sap of the blue agave plant that has been fermented, distilled, and aged for six years.
